The article is a polemics with the thesis fut forward by Paweł Bem in his article entitled Dlaczego polskie edytorstwo naukowe nie istnieje („Teksty Drugie” 2016, no 1). On the basis of publications by Zbigniew Goliński, especially the book Edytorstwo – tekstologia. Przekroje (Wrocław 1969) and Wstęp to the first volume of Pisma zebrine by Stefan Żeromski (Warsaw 1981), the author argues that Goliński’s own idea for the publication of Żeromski’s works is pioneering in the context of many contemporary American and European theories on text.
